I always forget that I have a foodsaver. I should use it more often. A friend of mine came to stay for a while and left behind his food saver and pizza stone. The stone is closing in on 250 pizzas. The food saver has been used twice. That might actually be the right ratio...

I’m relieved to see that your meat (at full price) is just as expensive as ours here in Oz.

I generally don't buy beef because of the price, but when it's got some hefty discounts I can make an exception.

Same here in the U.K.

The prices per kilo keep going up.

I shall be going out to my favourite butchers later today for a large ribeye and a hanger steak.

Same here to some extent. However, the real shock for us is the massive increase in the price of lamb (mostly due to our drought) - it has become some seriously expensive stuff.

Our beef and lamb price has gone stupid because of the ongoing drought. Even chicken and pork pricing has gone up due to increased feed  costs reducing production. And export contracts don't help either.

Never seeems to pass down to the supply side.

I recently bought a foodsaver, it’s handy so far. I could go for a good steak...

I have 2 kids so it still makes sense for me to have a warehouse club membership.  I’ve found that club prices for meat beat the clearance prices at the regular market.  Chuck Roast and Hamburger sell for about $3.79/lb at the club.  I bring it home and repackage it and freeze it.  We aren’t gourmet cooks so fine cuts aren’t ever on the menu so its good enough for us.

My dad would do something similar but I was never keen on previously frozen meat.
